Education Highlight

Content standards specify “what students should know and be able to do”. They include the knowledge and skills—the ways of thinking, communicating, reasoning, and investigating, and the most important enduring ideas, concepts, issues, dilemmas, and information that characterize each discipline. Because of student mobility, Texas has adopted curriculum standards that are to be used in all the state's public schools. The current standards, which outline what students are to learn in each course or grade, are called Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

The COVID-19 virus has put schools across the world in an unprecedented position, requiring many to quickly transition from traditional, in-person education to an online experience.
